A man at 5'10" (70 inches): 50 + 2.3 × (70 − 60) = 50 + 23 = 73 kg (about 160.9 lb).

Why this number is a rough estimate, not a target

The Devine formula was created in 1974 to help estimate medication dosing, not to define a personal health goal. It doesn't account for muscle mass, frame size, age, or body composition — two people at the identical height can have very different healthy weights depending on how muscular they are.
