Random Date Generator

Live

How it works

Each date is chosen uniformly at random from every day within your start and end date, inclusive
Example

A range of Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2026 might produce a random result like "Thu, Jul 23, 2026" - any day in the range is equally likely.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Set your start and end date for the range.
  2. Choose how many random dates you want.
  3. Click "Generate" for a fresh result, sorted chronologically.

Why every day in the range has an equal chance

This tool treats every single day within your range - including weekends and holidays - as equally likely to be picked, since it selects uniformly across the full day count rather than weighting by month or weekday. If you specifically need only weekdays, or need to exclude certain dates (like holidays), generate extra dates and manually filter out any that don't fit your specific requirement.

Common mistakes

Setting the start date after the end date - double-check your range is in the correct chronological order before generating.
Assuming weekends are automatically excluded - this tool includes every calendar day in the range unless you manually filter results afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Can the same date be generated twice in one batch?

Yes - each date is drawn independently, so with a small date range and a larger count, the same date could appear more than once, similar to rolling dice multiple times.

Can I generate a random date in the past?

Yes - set your start and end date to any range you'd like, past, present, or future.

What day-of-week format is shown?

Results show the day of the week, month, day, and year (like "Thu, Jul 23, 2026") in the US date format for easy reading.
